We're so excited here at Solr Solvr that the Canadian government just announced a program called the "Canada Greener Homes Grant" (CGHG), that allows you to save up to $5,000 for making your home more environmentally friendly, including adding solar panels to your home, so you can save even more by reducing your electricity bills.
It's quite easy to get started, I walked through it myself and there is surprisingly little red tape to get started. So here is a quick step-by-step guide to help you get the ball rolling.
Start by registering on the government website listed here.
Your next step is to select a company to arrange for an energy audit--the listing will only be companies that work in your area, and if you're really keen, you can google the company names and see the reviews.
Once this is done be sure to to connect with Solr Solvr, Canada's Leading Online Solar Marketplace and your trusted advisor to get you started down the path to solarize your home. Unlike a seller or an installer, we aren't selling anything. We want to help you through the process, with no pressure. You can connect with us here for a Free Solar Assessment to see if solar is right for you. We will help to make sure that your audit precedes and complements your plan to go solar.
When you're ready, Solr Solvr will provide you with up to 3 free quotes of verified, vetted professionals who are authorized to work within the CGHG program. The link for Free Quotes is here.
We are with you all along the journey, you can ask us to clarify and simplify the whole process. To get started, you choose the solar company you would like to work with.
Once you qualify for the grant, work can begin, and you can include that in your solar payback plan - this can save as much as -12 to -20% off of the total solar install cost, with the benefit of paying off your solar panel install from electricity savings even earlier.
After the installation, there is a verification step and then you get a grant of up to $5,000 that will be issued by the federal government to you. No tax filing, no carbon credits--just hard, cold cash (ok, it's a cheque...).
It's like our tagline says, it's Simple Solar, You Control.
